Weise choice for fastest road rider

HICKY-CORSA_edited-1Peter Hickman made 2018 a year to remember at the Isle of Man TT, winning a sensational Senior race and setting a new outright lap record – the first ever 135mph+ lap of the Mountain Course.
The 31-year old – who was born in the same year that Weise was founded – has been supported by the British brand for 10 years. He made his dramatic debut at the TT in 2014 in a Weise suit, when he rode into the history books as the fastest TT newcomer, and he believes that riders need the best kit to win. Of this year’s lap record, Hickman said;

’œThat’s the hardest I’ve ever ridden a bike and to be able to do that I have to have confidence in my equipment. Weise have been a part of my journey for so long and I’m made up to be able to share this success with them’

Since its launch in 1987, Weise has been involved in the drive to improve rider safety, joining a working group at the ACU (Auto Cycle Union – the governing body of British motorcycle sport), to write a manufacturing guideline for racing suits. In the 1990s Weise was an early adopter of impact protection, made to the newly-introduced CE standard.

Today, regular road riders can share in the same race-bred technology and commitment to quality that Peter Hickman relies on, with products like the Weise Corsa RS leather jacket and jeans.

This race-style leather jacket is made from natural milled leather, with CE approved shoulder, elbow and back armour. Stretch panels aid fit and comfort and a removable 120-gram thermal quilted lining allows the wearer to keep riding when the temperature drops.

The jacket attaches to the matching Corsa RS jeans with an internal zipper. Produced using 1.2mm-1.4mm leather, with CE approved knee armour and stretch panels to aid movement, these ergonomic sport jeans are available in regular and short leg lengths.

The Weise Corsa RS jacket sells for -£199.99 and the matching jeans are -£179.99. For complete peace of mind, all Weise products are covered by a two-year warranty.

Wiese Air Spin Jacket review

AirspinNam4Vietnam; an amazing, exotic country; where the temperature can drop to freezing in the northern mountains and well over 40C in the south. The weather is constantly challenging: 100% humidity, tropical storms, floods and typhoons. There are great, empty, sweeping country roads, chaotic city traffic and slippery jungle trails. To say nothing of close encounters with water buffalo, monkeys, dangerous snakes and other wild animals. In other words, it’s a biker’s paradise. But only if you’re wearing the right gear, which is why Hawk, Senior Tour Leader at Hoi An Motorcycle Adventures, wears a Wiese Airspin jacket in black & neon. For someone who rides everyday it’s perfect. It has loads of mesh panels to cope with the heat, but it’s also got a warm, removable, thermal liner for winter and it’s waterproof too. It’s also got armour that feels thinner, lighter and stronger than in most jackets, which is very useful, because riding in those conditions, even the most experienced riders can have an off. And one final thing, it looks so damn cool, even the water buffalo are impressed.
